Educational Courses: Fishing 101

This is our entry level package that is designed for the fisherman or fisherwoman who has little to no fishing experience.  It can also be a refresher option for those with some prior experience and are looking to refresh on some fundamental skills or fill in knowledge gaps.

The course fee includes a starter fishing package for each attendee (Rod/Reel, small tackle box with some basic tackle, and reference book)

Course includes 2 1/2-3 hour guided fishing excursion in a boat

*The actual curriculum will be aligned based on the goals and experience of the customer. 

The recommended age range for this package is between 8 years old and adult.  Max group size with included boat excursion is 2-3 people (Max: 2 children and 1 adult or 2 Adults).  For larger groups, a pier type fishing option is available.  Inquire for more details.  An adult is required to attend the course with children under the age of 18.  

Session duration is around 4-5 hours including a 2 1/2-3 hour guided fishing excursion on a boat.  The standard course cost is $300  (1-2 people).  A basic fishing package will be provided to each guest.  Guests are responsible for getting a fishing license prior to the course, support/guidance can be provided if needed.

If fishing yields enough fish for a meal, an optional classic Midwest Shore lunch (fried fish) can be added for a fee of $25.  This would include filleting fish, prepping them, and a meal. 

This package can also pair very well with our full day open water guided packages to extend your experience longer.  If combined with a full day outfitted package, there is a discounted rate.  Inquire below to learn more.

This is our more advanced package, recommended after the Fishing 101 course.  This package has extreme flexibility and is entirely tailored to your next level goals.  We take what was learned in the Fishing 101 Course and apply it to a specific species.  Those initial skills are built upon while advanced techniques and rigging are taught.  This is also a fully guided outing in a boat where species specific spots are fished.  Additionally, this package can be adapted to fit an upcoming trip or situation that you want to be more prepared for.

The recommended age range for this package is between 8 years old and adult.  We can accommodate 2-3 people (Max: 2 children and 1 adult or 2 Adults). An adult is required to attend the course with children under the age of 18.  

This is a 4 hour session and the time of day will be focused on the prime fishing hours for the given species.  The standard rate for this session is $325. Guests are responsible for getting a fishing license prior to the course, support/guidance can be provided if needed.
